Giovanni tried to save Avicinda, once.

Avicinda met Giovanni’s gaze evenly from where he sat atop the human’s chest; whim binding his limbs to the ground as Avicinda pressed his entire weight down upon him. Giovanni knew better than to try and say anything now.

“You continue to surprise me,” said Avicinda flatly. As always, he showed no emotion but disdain on his face. “To think you could be so arrogant to assume you could be more important than Lord Chigda to me. Besides—” Here, he stabbed his sword into the soil by Giovanni’s head and leant in. “Who are you to want to save me?”
